How to Batch Create Your Instagram Reels Videos

Master Your Instagram Reels Strategy: A Simple Batching Guide

Looking to level up your Instagram presence? Here's the truth: Reels aren't just a trend anymoreโ€”they're essential for growing your brand on social media

But if you're feeling overwhelmed by the thought of creating video content consistently, you're not alone. And batching your video content might just be the helpful system that you need to implement in your content creation process.

Let's get into a streamlined batching process that will transform how you create Reels. Instead of scrambling to make content daily, you'll learn how to efficiently batch-create engaging Reels in just a few focused hours per week.

The 5-Step Reels Batching Framework

There is a method to the madness, and while it is a simple process to follow, it's key to prepare your content in this way to make sure you are being as efficient as possible. With video content creation being a pretty time consuming process, we want to make sure we are approaching it as strategically as possible.

Step One: Build Your Audio Library

Start by curating the sounds, audio, or trends that you want to create. While scrolling on Instagram, whenever you spot a trending sound or audio that resonates with your brand, tap that "save audio" button. This creates a go-to library of sounds ready for your next batching session.

Step Two: Batch Record Your Videos

Here's the strategic approach to recording, from easiest to most complex:

  1. Start with existing footage: Scan your camera roll for usable clips (behind-the-scenes moments, workspace shots, candid reactions)

  2. Quick wins first: Record simple point-and-sync videos or trending transitions

  3. Value-add content: Film educational content like tutorials or FAQ responses

  4. Complex creative: Save multi-clip sequences, costume changes, or choreographed content for last

Pro Tip: Always download your Reels to your camera roll as backup. Instagram drafts can be unpredictable!

Step Three: Edit Your Videos

Instead of trying to record and edit all at once, dedicate some time AFTER to adding engaging text to all your Reels. This not only keeps viewers engaged throughout your video but adding the text all at once to ALL of your videos helps you develop a consistent style and improves your efficiency.

Step Four: Design Your Reels Covers

Now you want to make sure that once your videos are recorded, text has been added, and they are fully editing - you want to make sure they look good in the feed. Now it's time to jump over into Canva and create branded Reels Covers to supplement the content you created.

Step Five: Scheduling Your Reels

Take some time to download your Instagram Reels Covers from Canva, and you now have two different options:

  1. Option one: you upload JUST the cover to your scheduling tool, add captions, and set it to manual publish. When it's time to publish it will download the cover onto your phone, head into Instagram, add the cover, paste the caption, and hit post.

  2. Option two: you save all of the Instagram Reels you created on your phone (this works best with videos that have your voice, talking to camera, or tutorials, this won't work for trending audio). You can add both the Reels Cover and the Reels itself to the scheduling tool and it will automatically publish for the date and time you set it to!
